Indian Impression Compound

Impression compound is a mucocompressive, thermoplastic (i.e., it softens when heated and hardens when cooled) and rigid impression material that was invented by British dentist Charles. T. Stent in 1856.

COMPOSITION

• Resin
• Copal resin
• Carnauba wax
• Stearic acid
• Talc
• Coloring agent

INDICATIONS

• For preliminary impressions in edentulous cases

DIRECTION OF USE

STEP 1: Compound is softened by hot water bath at 55-60°C temperature for 4-5 minutes.
STEP 2: Gauze is placed at bottom of water bath to prevent adherence
STEP 3: kneaded & loaded in the impression tray & placed against tissues in the oral cavity until set to a rigid mass.
